Einer der bedeutendsten deutschen Bischöfe des Spätmittelalters, der im Verhältnis zwischen dem sächsischen Kurfürsten, dem Erzbischof von Magdeburg sowie dem Kaiser durch sein erworbenes hohe Ansehen und sein Einfluss eine wichtige Rolle einnahm.

Am ehemaligen Hofportal des Ostflügels und am Nordgiebel des Ostflügels ist Thilos Wappen mit der Inschrift zu sehen.
